Nerf Gun Review: Nerf N-Strike Nite Finder EX-3

This is a Nerf gun review of the Nerf N-Strike Nite Finder EX-3.

Introduction: The Nite Finder EX-3 is part of the N-Strike series. It is an external single-fire Nerf blaster. It's a small gun, but is it small AND mighty? The addition of a laser which helps when having a war at night, but will this novelty feature be as good as the actual gun?

Range: For a small gun, I was amazed how far it fired! It can fire up to 40 feet, but sometimes it's less. That's where "up to" comes in. Whistler darts make it fire further. Considering the price (see the prices section below), this is great! 9/10

Accuracy: Short or long distances, the Nite Finder as great accuracy! The tactical rail is brilliant as well. Now, the laser (that requires 2 x AA batteries), unfortunately only really works at short distances which is a shame, really, because it's at long distances where you're often unsure about where your ammo will land. However, the tactical rail makes up for this! 10/10

Reliability: The Nite Finder has a simple reloading system so it is unable to jam! 10/10

Rate: This is a problem. The Nite Finder only holds one dart that can be fired. One dart. Yeah. Therefore, in a war, this shouldn't be your first choice of gun. Only use it as a last resort. 3/10

Capacity: The gun holds one dart to be fired and two below for easy reloading. So, three darts. 4/10

Price:
USA: Toys 'R' Us: $7.99 - Amazon.com: $10.00 - FishpondWorld.com: $16.79
UK: Toys 'R' Us: £8.99 - Amazon.co.uk: £6.19 - The Entertainer (TheToyShop.com): £9.00
In my opinion, these are good prices! However, from FishpondWorld in the USA, that's a bit expensive. 8/10

General: Overall, for such a small gun, the Nite Finder EX-3 really packs a punch! The slow reloading system and firing rate really lets it down, however, the gun is compact. The novelty of the laser wears off soon unfortunately, and good be done much better. 7.3/10

New NERF Tech Gear to be a big Holidays hit!

Howdy Nerfers!

Nerf have teamed up with Sakar to make some new products, to be released in the holiday season.

The new products will include:

  • Night-vision goggles.
  • A digital helmet camera which can be mounted on to a helmet or bike.
  • A pocket digital video recorder with a preview screen.
  • 2.1 and 5.1 megapixel cameras with social networking software.
  • 2GB flash drive shaped like a mini-Nerf blaster.
  • A 2GB MP3 player.
  • Walkie-talkies with up to 1000ft range.
  • Multi-function flashlight.
That's all there is in the line-up now.

I think it's good Hasbro have created some new tech products because it seems more professional. With technology growing around us, why should we settle for just normal blasters, when we can have technology to help us as well?!

The retail prices of the gear will be $19.99 - $59.99.

Toys 'R' Us UK Free Ammo Box!

What's up Nerfers? If you're wondering... the sky.

So Toys 'R' Us here in the UK currently have a promotion on which started on 19 September. I hadn't heard about it and I'm not sure if any of you have.

The deal is that when you spend £30 or more on selected N-Strike merchandise, you get a free Ammo Box of 100 whistler darts.

Personally, I think this is a great offer! Considering you only get about 6 darts per gun, it's always worth having loads more.

You could buy two of the N-Strike guns in the promotion and get 100 extra darts for them.

The box with the darts is £29.99 so your total if you got two N-Strike guns and the Ammo Box is about £60. Now it's £30!

You can find more about this offer by clicking here: DETAILS HERE! and clicking the banner at the top stating the offer. Promotion ends 18 October 2011 so grab that deal fast!

Nerf Grenades: Good or Bad?

Time for a debate!

Todays topic is... Nerf Grenades!

A nerf grenade is a bunch of Nerf darts (normally about 12-36 depending on the rubber band), bunched together with a rubber band. They are useful in Nerf wars.

First, we shall hear from the side of the argument which believes Nerf grenades are good.

GOOD

  1. Nerf grenades can be used to alarm an enemy in a Nerf war. Imagine you're hiding behind a door with a Nerf grenade with your opponent coming up the stairs. Throw the grenade and when it lands, the darts will spill everywhere! Confusing, much?
  2. They are easy to make. They can be made in about 30 seconds. First-timers may be able to assemble their grenade in 2 minutes.
  3. They are fun to throw.
BAD

  1. Nerf grenades waste darts! Imagine 24 of your darts being used just to alarm the enemy, rather than being used in your gun.
  2. In a Nerf war, 30 seconds isn't long enough to assemble your grenade.
  3. Most official Nerf wars don't like fan-made accessories like grenades and won't allow them if you're in a competition.
So the debate rages on! Post your views on Nerf grenades in the comment section.

Wooden gun shoots NERF bullets!

Hey Nerfers!

This is some strange, yet amazing but also confusing news!

Some dude going by the name of 'faustus70', has modded a Nerf gun with wood!

The gun started life as a NERF N-Strike Barricade Gun, but soon it turned into a steampunk wooden gun.

He got the wood from an old antique wood chair and decided it would be fun to convert his N-Strike Barricade into a wooden gun.

Believe me, the pictures look very cool.

Now come on? Who wouldn't want that?

You can find the guy's website by clicking here: GUNS, GUNS & MORE GUNS!

What do you think of the gun? Would Hasbro be happy about this mod?
