The deal is that when you spend £30 or more on selected N-Strike merchandise, you get a free Ammo Box of 100 whistler darts.
Personally, I think this is a great offer! Considering you only get about 6 darts per gun, it's always worth having loads more.
You could buy two of the N-Strike guns in the promotion and get 100 extra darts for them.
The box with the darts is £29.99 so your total if you got two N-Strike guns and the Ammo Box is about £60. Now it's £30!

Nerf Grenades: Good or Bad?
Time for a debate!
Todays topic is... Nerf Grenades!
A nerf grenade is a bunch of Nerf darts (normally about 12-36 depending on the rubber band), bunched together with a rubber band. They are useful in Nerf wars.
First, we shall hear from the side of the argument which believes Nerf grenades are good.

GOOD
- Nerf grenades can be used to alarm an enemy in a Nerf war. Imagine you're hiding behind a door with a Nerf grenade with your opponent coming up the stairs. Throw the grenade and when it lands, the darts will spill everywhere! Confusing, much?
- They are easy to make. They can be made in about 30 seconds. First-timers may be able to assemble their grenade in 2 minutes.
- They are fun to throw.
- Nerf grenades waste darts! Imagine 24 of your darts being used just to alarm the enemy, rather than being used in your gun.
- In a Nerf war, 30 seconds isn't long enough to assemble your grenade.
- Most official Nerf wars don't like fan-made accessories like grenades and won't allow them if you're in a competition.

Wooden gun shoots NERF bullets!
Hey Nerfers!
This is some strange, yet amazing but also confusing news!
Some dude going by the name of 'faustus70', has modded a Nerf gun with wood!
The gun started life as a NERF N-Strike Barricade Gun, but soon it turned into a steampunk wooden gun.
He got the wood from an old antique wood chair and decided it would be fun to convert his N-Strike Barricade into a wooden gun.
Believe me, the pictures look very cool.

Nerf Vortex Proton to be a 2011 Christmas Hit!
Bloomberg, a news company that specializes in finance, have said that the Nerf Vortex Proton is on The Toy Insiders 'Hot 20' Toys for the 2011 Holiday Season.
The Proton has fallen into the 6-8 years category. Personally, I think it should be in the 9+ range.
But which toy will be the winner? Well, the Proton is competing with an Angry Birds plush (BIG in Asia right now!), the Hasbro Radica Fijit Friends and a Mattel Redakai Championship Tin. In other age categories, there is the Playskool Let's Rock Elmo and the Chuggington Interactive Railway.
Despite the Proton being a good blaster, it looks like the Commonwealth Toy & Novelty Co. Justin Bieber Rockin' Tour Bus and Concert Stage which is in the same age group as the Proton, is going to win.
So, will the Nerf be crawling over the finishing line come the holiday season? Or sprinting ahead with many buyers desperately wanting one? Well, we're going to have to wait a few months.

Nerf Vortex Prices
So, the Nerf Vortex series as been out for a couple of weeks and I decided it was time to run a price check.
USA: Price on day of launch: $54.99. Price after approximately TWO WEEKS: $44.97. SAVING: $10.02
UK: Price on day of launch: £42.77. Price after approximately TWO WEEKS: £38.81. SAVING: £3.96.
Prices shown a for the Nerf Vortex Nitron and prices are from the regional Amazon websites.
I believe the Nerf Vortex launched on the same day in the UK as the USA but admittedly with stock exchange and other stuff for number crunchers and bean counters (Disney's Toontown Online, anyone?), prices will differ in various places. On the other hand, the Yanks (Damn, I am posh!) are getting more of a saving in USD.
It depends on how much you love the guns and the ammo (foam discs) used, but as a Brit, I'd wait a while for the price to drop. If you're in the USA, don't expect the price to drop massively again for a while. Wal-Mart and other stores may do their own special price crunches but from a site like Amazon, the price doesn't look like it's going to fall. Then again, it depends how much you want the blasters.

Nerf Gun Review: Nerf N-Strike Maverick REV-6
This is a Nerf gun review of the Nerf N-Strike Maverick REV-6.
Introduction: Released in 2004 as part of the N-Strike series, the Maverick REV-6 is still a popular Nerf gun, and can be found in many stores. A Nerf gun arsenal would not be complete without this blaster. But just how good is it?
Range: The gun can fire the micro darts about 25-35 feet. Certain darts like whistler darts may have an effect on the range. 8/10
Accuracy: The Maverick has great accuracy. For shooting at long distances and with wind, it can be a bit off-target sometimes. 9/10
Reliability: The Maverick rarely jams, but may have some errors such as skipping chambers if the trigger is pressed when the gun's pull/push-slider has not been pulled fully back. Also, rotating the barrel when it hasn't popped out may cause the gun to stop working. 8/10
Rate: Depending on how you hold it, the gun can fire 2/3 darts per second. That's with one hand on the trigger, one hand on the slider. However, the slider can be stiff and hard to pull back, particularly if the gun is new. 9/10
Capacity: The blaster can hold 6 darts at once and is easy to reload. In a Nerf war, you will have to keep reloading again and again which make get annoying and waste time. However, if you have other guns with you, this won't be such a problem. Otherwise, it loads easily with the barrel popping out. 7/10

General: Overall, the Maverick REV-6 is a good gun, despite the capacity and long-range problems, the gun fires well, has a great reliability and is good all-round. 8.2/10
